What is 3D Printing and
Why is it Important?
3D Printing is a form of manufacturing also known as Additive Manufacturing. It is a process of adding layers of a material one at a time to create a 3 dimentional object. There are many different types of materials available depending on the capabilities of each machine.
3D Printing can be used in a multitude of ways. There are hobbyist activities such as making fun baubles and figurines, practical applications such as replacing household parts, or even within an industrial context as part of assembly lines or end use parts.
